This year in Myrtle Beach the “Mother of All Golf Tournaments” has added some new twists for the lucky winner. Not only will the golfers be competing for over $500,000 in prizes, but participants can also become the New Host of The Wandering Golfer or win all-expense paid trip to Scotland.
The competition will celebrate its 23rd action packed year, and attract over 4,000 players from across the US and 30 foreign nations. This event, known as “The Largest Single Site Golf Tournament,” will again be the place for fun, lots of great food, camaraderie, and most importantly, great golf. Come and see great golfers compete for a host of prizes, and to see who will be crowned the World Champion of Amateur Golf.
The four-day competition takes place over 75 of the Myrtle Beach area's championship courses, with each flight winner (and ties) competing in the Championship Round at the prestigious Dunes Club. Each evening, contestants and their guests will gather at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center -- better known as the World's Largest 19th Hole -- to check the leader boards and enjoy the Taste of Myrtle Beach, showcasing the specialties of some of the best restaurants in the area. The week’s festivities include sponsor exhibits, a golf expo (featuring a 40,000 sq. foot Superstore that is a MUST SEE for any golfer), special clinics, demonstrations, guest appearances, golf games and dancing.
MONDAY, AUGUST 28th 8:30 a.m. & 9:30 a.m. – Tournament Round I (Shotgun Start)
TUESDAY, AUGUST 29th 8:30 a.m. & 9:30 a.m. – Tournament Round II (Shotgun Start)
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30th 8:30 a.m. & 9:30 a.m. – Tournament Round III (Shotgun Start)
THURSDAY, AUGUST 31st 8:30 a.m. & 9:30 a.m. – Tournament Round IV (Shotgun Start)
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st 7:30 a.m. – Tee Times begin for Championship Round at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club. All flight winners (and ties) compete to become World Champion! Also, top 20 teams in the International Pairs/World Am Qualifier will compete to decide what team will represent the United States at St. Andrews.
