Golf is an integral part of the coastal lifestyle and there are three distinct golf clubs located within St. James Plantation. In addition to beautifully maintained golf courses that have all been designated as "Audubon Certified Cooperative Sanctuaries" by Audubon International, each club offers recreational and entertainment facilities that are available to property owners who become members at each club.
The golf clubs at St James Plantation- The Founders Club - The Players Club and provide a pleasant variety of golf experiences that reflect the personalities of their designers. Residents and property owners can take advantage of an extensive schedule of fun-filled events and southeastern North Carolina's mild climate to play golf all year 'round.
FOUNDERS CLUB
(FORMERLY THE GUANTLET)
The Founders Club (formerly The Gauntlet Club) is an award-winning 18-hole championship course that was designed by P. B. Dye to enhance the natural beauty of the coastal Carolina landscape. Experienced players will appreciate its challenging layout, which features the highest slope rating of any course on the East Coast. The Founders Club also offers a newly renovated clubhouse and a state-of-the-art swimming and tennis complex.
THE MEMBERS CLUB
The Members Club, an 18-hole Hale Irwin Signature Course, has won acclaim from golfers of every skill level. The Member's Club is noted for its 200-acres of natural terrain, uncommon elevation changes, wide fairways, large greens and challenges of water and sand amid the Carolina pines. This highly playable course added another nine holes in spring 2001 and is complemented by a 8,000 square foot clubhouse featuring a restaurant, bar and grill, and fitness center.
PLAYERS CLUB 
The Players Club is the third and newest in this outstanding trio of championship courses. Designed by native Carolinian Tim Cate, The Players Club is known for spectacular views that enhance the golf experience on this challenging course. The Players Club course has been carefully crafted to enhance the spectacular natural beauty of the unspoiled coastal landscape, rolling terrain, hardwood and pine forests, naturally occurring water and native vegetation to the maximum degree possible. tHe course is a challenging and eye-pleasing design that blends ingenious use of berms and bunkers with the beautiful and natural landscape of Coastal Carolina.
