River Hills is a hidden gem of a course in North Myrtle Beach. It is very well maintained and reasonably priced compared to other courses in the area. The staff is both helpful and knowledgable. It may be a little longer to go but I think you'll find it to be worth it.
Drop your clubs and park the car. Go to the pro shop and pay your greens fees. While you do, your clubs will be loaded on a cart and a bag of range balls will be waiting on your seat. Make the short walk to the range and warm up for your round. Make sure you take a little time on the practise green to get used to the speed and feel required. If you're a big hitter (consistantly drive the ball 265+) you might enjoy the back tees. Otherwise, choose your tees according to your handicap. The course is not overly long on the card but can play longer when wet or windy.
Many holes require thought for the club selection off the tee. The risk reward factor is high on this course so don't just think you can slam driver and beat it into submission.
If you enjoy a round of golf through the pines and water features of the low country you will find that here. Enjoy this course and know that you are getting one of the local bargains. We paid twice as much at Barefoot Resort Fazio course and had half the fun in twice the time. But that's another story. Enjoy River Hills!
