Bay Tree Golf Plantation is a 54-hole golf complex with three of the most celebrated courses on the Grand Strand. Bay Tree continues to host the best the golfing community of South Carolina has to offer. It's the only facility in South Carolina to host a major professional tournament, the 1977 LPGA Championship. The PGA has twice used these outstanding courses for the final stage of Tour qualifying. Craig Stadler, Calvin Peete, and Bruce Lietzke are just three PGA Tour stars who earned their playing card at Bay Tree.
GOLD
COURSE
The
Gold Course has recently been completely renovated. They've
replaced the putting greens with Champion Ultradorf Grains. These
are superior putting surfaces unsurpassed on the beach. They have also made the tee
surfaces larger and renovated the bunkers. With its slightly
rolling terrain and tree-lined fairways, Bay Tree Gold course
gained national attention as host of the LPGA Championship with
NBC broadcasting the play of the world's top lady professionals in
1977. |
