The Barefoot Resort is a mixture of style and texture that makes up the 54 championship holes appropriately names for their designer.  Each championship course offers a challenge to even the best of golfers.  Of the  four courses, The Dye Course is the only semi-private facility at Barefoot Resort and has its own clubhouse featuring fantastic views of holes 9, 10 and 18.

Bordering the natural white sands of the Carolina Bays, this visually stunning Pete Dye design is filled with the infamous pitfalls for wayward shots that have become synonymous with the Dye name. Working with exceptional elevations and an excellent site, this course really lives up to the famous Dye name. Pete Dye upholds his reputation of building memorable and challenging golf courses by creating a spectacular design filled golf course with challenging angles for what becomes tricky shots.  Throughout the course, Dye gives players risk-reward scenarios which make it a continual challenge for the player willing to gamble in order to grab another 35 yards off the tee.

Stretching to 7,343 yards from the tips, with a 149 slope, Dye's course will prove a tough and treacherous at times and a good test for recreational players, but is played at the appropriate tee times, can be manageable.  And it's not even as difficult as Dye is used to creating. The 475-yard 7th hole at the Dye course is indicative of this scenario. Golfers face an intimidating tee shot over a long waste bunker. Cut too much and there's the possibility of ending up in the deep white sand that surrounds the fairway. Don't cut enough and you'll face a 220-yard shot uphill to an elevated green.
